Hamakou

I went to Hamakou in Noge. Noge is one of my favorite spots in Yokohama, because there are many pubs, so I have been to Noge many times.
This time, I chose pub Hamakou, because the reviews are good on ”Tabelogu.” Tabelogu is very famous gourmet review site in Japan.

First, I ate an appetizer. I thought it was namul and it was good. We call this kind of appetizer ”otoshi.” I think a pub where the appetizer is delicious must be a good pub.

Next, I ate sashimi of neck of the horse (¥1,200). When this dish came out, it was  a little frozen. It gradually softened when I left it unattended to normal temperature. When I put on soy sauce and wasabi and ate it, it was very delicious.

Third, I ate this restaurant's noted product, ”baka-nabe,” it was the meat of  horse and deer. In Japan, when we write  horse and  deer in  kanji, it is ”馬” and ”鹿.” When you read these two kanjis, you say ”baka” (馬鹿). So this dish is called ”baka-nabe.” It was like sukiyaki. The meat of the deer was softer than the meat of the horse.

Finally, I ate udon with the soup which remained from the baka-nabe. The soup was good. Everything was good to the last dish.

Ittanmonme Vol.4

Last week, I went to Ittanmonme with my friends. I have introduced this place several times, so I think you know this pub.

First, we ate tuna and leek with vinegared  miso dressing. In Japanese, we say ”maguro to negi no nuta.” I think that people often eat sashimi with soy sauce, but this time we didn't use soy sause, because the taste of the vinegared miso dressing is thick. I think that it matches the tuna and leeks well. This dish is recommended to eat with sake.

Next, I ate Deep Fried Garlic. I said to the chef, ”I like garlic,” so the chef cooked this dish for me. It was seasoned with salt and  laver. I ate a lot so, I came to have bad breath. But I didn't mind problem because it was delicious.

Finally, we ate ”makizushi.” In English, we say rolled sushi. The ingredient was various kinds of sashimi. An egg was surrounded around. Makizushi is Japanese food. I think that ingredient is anything good.

We had a good time!!

Ikesu

I went to ”Ikesu” in Shinjuku with my friend. Ikesu is a seafood pub and it has a big fish tank. I took a photo at the entrance of the pub. The photograph is a view of the pub.

When I took this photo, it was at 11:00 pm. This time was at the pub's closing time, so there were few costomers. You can see the fish tank in center of this photo. There were many fishes.

The second photo is lobster (about ¥6,000). This photo was a photo after I ate a mouthful. The lobster was arranged in ”ikezukuri”, so it was expensive. The Lobster was plump and juicy!

Next, I ate sea urchin grilled on charcoal fire with eggplant. I ordered this because I like sea urchin and eggplant. The eggplant was hot and very juicy, and it goes well with sea urchin.

Finally, I ate sea bream with boiled rice in tea. This dish was recommended by the chef. The soup stock ”dashi” was very delicious and it was homemade. First I just ate the dish without taking any soup stock. Next, I ate the soup stock with a lot to rice. So I could eat two kinds of taste.

Imahan

I went to Imahan (今半) with my friend on May 7th. Imahan is a sukiyaki restaurant. Imahan's head office is in Asakusa, but I went to the restaurant in Yokohama. The restaurant that I went to was almost empty, probably because that day was the first day after the Golden Week holidays, and I went at about 8 pm.

First we ordered roast beef sushi
(¥1,620). It was 1,620 yen for two pieces, which is slightly high. But the roast beef was very tender and delicious.

Next, we ordered sukiyaki as our main dish (¥4,860). This price is for one person. This meal includes beef, vegetables, egg, rice and soup. The waitress cooked these at our table. She put meat and vegetables in a pan according to the speed that we ate. The sukiyaki beef which I ate was more tender than any sukiyaki I had ever eaten.

Finally, w
hen we had finished eating all the beef and vegetables, the waitress began to make something with soup with the egg and other thing that remained in the pan. I watched what she made. This photograph shows the soup.

I thought it was like ”tamagokakegohan”. The egg was cooked very lightly. Japanese ginger on the egg accentuated it well.

Iwahan is a restaurant with good service for!!

Takaichi

Last week, I went to Takaichi with my friend. Takaichi is a pub in Noge. Many pubs and bars are in Noge, and it is near Sakuragicho.

First, I ordered abalone (awabi) sashimi. It was very crunchy when I ate it. I thought that baked abalone is more delicious than the sashimi.

Next, I ate squid (ika) sashimi. Takaichi has many water tanks. Most of the water tanks are inside the pub, but there is also a water tank which is in front of the store. There are many live squid in that water tank. When the cook receives an ordes, he takes out a live squid and serves it. Because it is very fresh, the squid's head moves on the plate. We call this plate ”ikezukuri”. It was transparent and very soft and delicious.

Finally, I ate sea urchin. There was a lot of volume and it was without bitterness, so it was very delicious.

Please go if you think that you want to eat fresh fish!

Ittanmonme vol.3

I went to Ittanmonme as a guest again.

This time I ate "Chicken Carpaccio." I went there with my friend and I ordered the half size. Balsamico sauce is on the chicken. This accentuates the flavor well. This dish is popular among guests.

Next, I ate teuchi soba (seiro). Ittanmonme's soba is famous because it's so delicious. The texture is a little hard, so it's perfect. Seiro is zaru soba. There are five kinds of seiro. The soba is put into the soup, as in the picture below.

It is my friend's birthday this month, so the chef made a special dessert. He prepared strawberries and fresh cream on small sponge cakes. Its taste is like shortcake. This dessert is not on the menu. It has a cute appearance. The chef makes anything if you ask.

Ittanmonme is my favorite spot. I recommend this place even for a girls-only gathering. It's also good for a date. Please come to Ittanmonme!
